The Library at LJMU provides a wide range of digital information tools and resources and access to the digital publications needed by all our students, researchers and staff. We support our users in getting the most out of digital content, whether they are consumers or creators, with advice and training, and a high-quality digital experience when using our applications.
We are now looking for a Library Space and Experience Team Leader. You will be enthusiastic, proactive and an experienced leader, supporting the delivery of high-quality, user‑focused services across our library spaces. You will play a key operational role in the day‑to‑day management of our City Campus and Mount Pleasant Campus Libraries, ensuring that spaces are welcoming, inclusive, safe and conducive to study. You will lead and support a team delivering frontline services, ensuring consistent, high‑quality user experiences for students and staff across both sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day operations of library spaces across two campus sites.
- Lead and support a frontline service team to deliver consistent, high‑quality user experiences.
- Ensure spaces are welcoming, inclusive, safe and conducive to study.
- Resolve complex enquiries and incidents, and manage operational services.
- Analyse user feedback and operational data to inform continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across teams to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
- Degree level education or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of academic library services and customer–service principles.
- Experience of leading or supervising staff in a customer‑facing environment.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive, solutions‑focused and committed to delivering excellent user experiences.
- Confidence in using digital systems and flexibility to work across multiple sites.
