This apprenticeship role will lead towards achievement of a Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship. Training, support and development will be provided to help the apprentice progress towards competence across the required range of data activities. The apprenticeship will support the apprentice to source, format and present data securely in a way that is relevant for analysis; communicate outcomes appropriately; support analysis of structured and unstructured data; and apply legal and ethical principles when handling data.

The apprentice will work in the Impact & Insights team, with exposure to programme delivery, fundraising, community engagement and operational colleagues to understand how data is collected, used and reported across the Foundation. The role will provide practical experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning, including programme data collection, data quality checks, reporting, dashboards, case study evidence and social impact insight.

Responsibilities
  • To undertake a learning and development programme leading to a Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship as part of an 18‑month fixed‑term apprenticeship.
  • To proactively participate in your own development plan as agreed with the line manager, mentor and apprenticeship training provider.
  • Assist with the day‑to‑day data and reporting requirements of the Impact & Insights team and wider LFC Foundation.
  • Support programme teams to collect, input and maintain accurate monitoring data in line with agreed processes and minimum requirements.
  • Collect, compile, format and, where appropriate, cleanse data from internal systems, surveys, spreadsheets and programme monitoring tools.
  • Support the production of clear tables, charts, dashboards, written summaries and reports for internal colleagues, funders and other stakeholders.
  • Help identify missing, incomplete or inconsistent data and escalate issues to the Impact & Insights Manager or Coordinator.
  • Support the preparation and organisation of qualitative evidence, including case studies, feedback forms, focus group notes and interview summaries.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions and apprenticeship progress reviews.
  • Act as a role model for LFC Foundation values and professional standards.
  • Support your department manager with delivery of departmental plans, impact reporting priorities and continuous improvement activity.
  • Support risk management by reporting or escalating any identified data quality, safeguarding, confidentiality or compliance issues as appropriate.
  • Be fully aware of and actively comply with LFC Foundation policies and procedures relevant to your responsibilities, including data protection, safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by line management.
  • Demonstrate commitment to LFC Foundation’s mission, values and community impact.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continual professional development and successful completion of the apprenticeship.
  • Maintain awareness of safeguarding issues when working with data relating to children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Qualifications
  • Experience of using MS Office applications effectively, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Able to organise and prioritise multiple work demands sensibly and logically and work flexibly to meet the needs of the team and organisation.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when inputting, checking and presenting information.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE passes, including GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interest in data, research, evaluation, social impact, sport for development or community programmes.

  • Able to work under own initiative, understanding when to ask questions or seek clarification.
  • Ability to apply themselves to problem‑solving activities, escalating or seeking guidance where appropriate.
  • Able to analyse and compile data and information in a clear format accurately and with attention to detail.

This position is offered on an 18‑month fixed‑term apprenticeship contract and involves working 35 hours per week on 5 days from 7 days’ workflow, including weekly study days. The role is based at two locations; our Head Office at Chapel Street, Liverpool and Anfield Sports & Community Centre, Liverpool. To reward your hard work and commitment we offer a competitive salary, 25 days holiday (plus 8 bank holidays and the option to purchase up to an additional 5 days) and access to our benefits kit bag.
