We are recruiting a Junior Travel Chef to join our team. This role involves extensive travel and delivering tailored, performance-focused meals. The ideal candidate will have a high level of food knowledge, the ability to plan and implement nutritionally balanced meals, and hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Professional Cookery.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of food safety, storage, and kitchen hygiene in various settings.
  • Understand government guidelines on allergens and labeling.
  • Learn and execute nutritionally optimized meal plans based on individual requirements, dietary restrictions, and performance goals.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef, Senior Sous Travel Chef, logistics teams, and hospitality venues to ensure seamless food provision during travel, including sourcing ingredients.
  • Work with sports nutritionists to adapt recipes as needed.
  • Prepare meals for various dietary needs without compromising taste or performance.
  • Deliver high-quality culinary experiences emphasizing presentation, taste, and consistency.
  • Align food preparation with training and competition schedules by understanding the needs of coaching staff, nutritionists, and medical teams.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in sports nutrition and performance cuisine.

Candidate Requirements

Possess an NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent (Level 3 preferred). Previous professional chef experience in creating nutrient-dense, flavorful meals suitable for high-performance sports is essential. The role requires extensive travel and expertise in meal planning and high-quality cooking.
