We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Director, E-commerce Trading.

In this role, you will be leading the E-commerce Trading Team to maximise sales revenue by optimising conversion, NPS, ATV, order frequency and growth.

The Director of E-commerce Trading is responsible for building and executing the E-commerce Trading strategy to drive growth in Sales and Ebitda across all Retail owned and operated E-commerce trading platforms (LFC Global Store, LFC Shopping App and Connected marketplaces).

This is a new and important role in the LFC Retail Operations and Merchandising team that requires a creative individual with a proven ability to lead a team of technical experts.

With a strategic approach and focus, always considering longer term plans to ensure continued growth and improved performance.

What will you be doing?

Your main Key accountabilities will be:

E-COMMERCE TRADING STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

  • Lead the club’s E-commerce trading strategy, define objectives and KPIs with extensive understanding of the omni-channel nature of sales.
  • Leading the trading team to deliver a customer-centric experience, understanding customer segmentation, behaviours, and journey.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and customer preferences to enhance the online buying experience.
  • Expanding the business into new Owned and Operated E-commerce channels and territories where appropriate.
  • Collaborating with the Marketing & Retail tech teams to drive all aspects of the E-commerce business including: business planning, content strategy and development, promotional campaigns and other online marketing, customer service, web analytics and web technologies.
  • Build the ‘Direct to Fan’ E-commerce trading strategy in collaboration with the Merchandising leadership team.
  • Support the International team to maximise E-commerce sales via our International partner run stores and marketplaces.

SALES AND EBITDA

  • Building and executing trading strategies and tactics that deliver the revenue and profit objectives.
  • Deliver sales and EBITDA targets by leading, engaging, developing and inspiring the E-commerce trading team.
  • Create annual and 5-year strategy and business plans to achieve financial goals, with stretch plans based on additional investment, working alongside the wider Merchandising leadership team.
  • Accountable for daily, weekly and monthly reporting and analysis of revenue/profit vs plan and other key KPI’s.
  • Forecast reporting; identifying potential gaps with plans to minimise risk and maximise opportunity.

LEADERSHIP

  • Build and shape a highly effective, world-class team. Recruiting, training, and developing experts with a laser focus on longer term trends, initiatives and campaigns within the marketplace.
  • Shaping the team to deliver efficiently managed E-commerce channels globally.
  • Represent the E-commerce trading function within key business meetings.

TRADING

  • Maximising sales revenue by optimising conversion, NPS, ATV, order frequency and growth. Working closely with the wider merchandising teams to maximize cross-channel sales.
  • Develop and maintain the seasonal E-commerce trading calendar, tailoring to each individual market’s needs.
  • Identify and develop market-specific annual/seasonal business plans to achieve short and long-term growth.
  • Work alongside the Merchandising and Commercial teams to achieve the International Market Expansion strategic plans and devise a long-term (3-5 year) plan that meets its objectives and review annually.

COMPETITOR ANALYSIS

  • Keep up to date with competitor information and market trends, evaluating this data to present recommendations and new initiatives focusing on building and enhancing the customer experience.
  • Research competition, investigate benchmarks and provide suggestions for improvement.

Fan Experience

  • Work closely with our regional partners and internal customer service teams to ensure that the retail call centre is managed effectively.
  • Regular communication with the E-Commerce teams and retail customer services team to ensure any site feedback is recorded and actions are taken where required.

E-COMMERCE CONTENT & MARKETING

  • Implement and monitor retail guidelines on all E-commerce stores to ensure high standards are maintained at all times online.
  • Follow visual merchandising programme, ensuring that all E-commerce stores & marketplaces are presented and merchandised to a high standard to maximise sales.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you will have significant E-Commerce trading experience gained working within a sport/lifestyle brand and proven operational E-Commerce experience in international markets. You will have experience of developing and managing regional E-Commerce projects and strong product knowledge and experience. It is important you understand how to use E-Commerce/marketing analytical packages and implementation of findings. You will understand current and emerging E-Commerce and E-Commerce marketing standards. The right candidate will be a results-oriented individual with the ability to lead and motivate a small team.

The right candidate will have an ability to form strong relationships across the retail operations team. Working within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, an ability to pivot and adapt to the unpredictability of football and its impact on e-commerce. You will be a commercial thinker, analytical and a strategic thinker. You will have an innovative approach and have strong task and time management skills.
