Join our Casual Safety Team as a Casual Response Steward and play a key role in delivering a safe and secure stadium environment. As part of a mobile team, you will respond to incidents across the stadium, support the safe arrival of team coaches, manage fan search and queueing operations, and assist Stand Managers and Safety Officers during live events.
What will you be doing?
- Provide a dynamic response to any incident inside or outside any part of the stadium as part of a larger mobile team and as directed by Supervisors / Safety Officers.
- Manage the safe arrival of the team coaches and support vehicles whilst maintaining spectator safety.
- Manage the search operation for visiting fans specifically same sex body searching of fans.
- Manage the safe operation of visiting fans queueing lanes.
- You will be trained to a nationally recognised standard for Level 2 of the Stadium Intervention Policy in respect of conflict management and use of force.
- Be the primary resource for Stand Managers / Event Safety Officer in respect of the above policy.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for individuals with a strong commitment to spectator safety and delivering a safe event environment. You will be physically fit for the demands of the role, with excellent observational skills and situational awareness. A clear, confident and assertive communication style is essential, along with the ability to remain calm under pressure. You must be over 18 due to the nature of the role. You will have experience in one or more of the following:
- Security, stewarding, or a customer-facing safety role.
- Conflict management or de-escalation.
- Conducting searches or working in controlled entry environments.
- HM Forces, Prison Service, or a similar environment.
By applying for the role, please be aware that this role requires the completion of a Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety (as per the Sports Grounds Safety Authority), which must be completed within 12 months from the date of your first induction training. By submitting your application, you confirm that you can commit to completing the Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety within 12 months from your first induction training. As this qualification is essential for the role, if you are unable to complete it within this timeframe, we may not be able to progress your application.
This is a casual position, offering variable hours including evenings and weekends on a flexible assignment basis.
