Associate, Finance Technology Business Partner - Liverpool Job Introduction

We are looking for a Finance Technology Business Partner to join the team at Liverpool FC.

You will own and support the Finance team's technology and systems, driving system improvements, integrations, and technical change initiatives.

Acting as the Finance technology expert, they will lead innovation, enhance processes, ensure compliance with governance and security standards, manage key supplier relationships, and collaborate with stakeholders across the Club to deliver effective technology solutions that meet business needs.

What will you be doing?

  • Product Leadership & Strategy
  • Support the development and delivery of the Finance Technology strategy.
  • Manage the Finance systems roadmap, backlog, and improvement priorities.
  • Drive system enhancements, integrations, and process optimisation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and product teams to deliver business-focused solutions.
  • Champion AI and innovation opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Use data and insights to inform decision-making, prioritisation, and cost optimisation.
  • Support business case development and investment proposals for technology change.
  • Technology & Vendor Management
  • Manage relationships with Finance technology suppliers and partners.
  • Evaluate, onboard, and oversee third-party technology providers.
  • Lead and support Finance system integrations across the Club's technology landscape.
  • Operational Excellence & Compliance
  • Ensure Finance systems and suppliers comply with governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote the responsible and compliant use of AI technologies.
  • Drive high standards of data management, documentation, and system governance.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to measure Finance system performance and effectiveness.
  • Provide expert guidance on Finance technology to support operational excellence and business outcomes.

Who are we looking for?

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior Finance Technology/Product role within a complex organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to analyse, document, and present complex processes and user journeys.
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, and communicating insights from data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, adaptable approach.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar.
  • Good understanding of UX/UI principles and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of compliance, governance, and security requirements.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation to improve efficiency and business outcomes.

Essential Technical Skills

  • Experience with Finance platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience defining and monitoring KPIs, targets, and performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and working with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and confidently engage with senior stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Understanding of customer journeys across ticketing, retail, memberships, events, or entertainment sectors.
  • Experience working within a fan-focused, sport, leisure, or entertainment organisation.
