We are seeking a First Team Sports Therapist / Physiotherapist for our Women’s team, to assist in the provision of medical support services, delivering high‑quality rehabilitation across the injury pathway, from initial presentation through to return to play, with a strong emphasis on pitch‑based, football‑specific conditioning and reintegration, supporting elite female footballers within a performance environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with the Physiotherapy & Medical Team for the programming and delivery of acute, mid, and end stages of rehabilitation for all First Team injured players.
  • Collaboratively assist the team in the assessment and screening of injury diagnosis of 1st Team players.
  • Assist in screening and testing protocols that objectively assess players’ physical capabilities within a criteria‑based rehabilitation.
  • Chaperone players to off‑site locations as required, including specialist appointments, surgical procedures, alternative therapies, and physical testing locations.
  • Participate in CPD and attend in‑house CPD training.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders regarding player availability and progress.
  • Maintain contemporaneous medical notes to an excellent standard on the WPS (Women’s Performance System).
  • Ensure high levels of professionalism and patient confidentiality.
  • Perform any other duties that are reasonable and consistent with the nature of the job.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc Degree in Physiotherapy/Sports Therapy/Sports Rehabilitation.
  • Registration with an appropriate governing body (CSP, HCPC, STT, BASRat).
  • FA Level 5 Emergency First Aid in Football (ATMMiF).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work unsociable hours, including weekends.
  • FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary team working.
  • Experience in WSL/WSL2 working in elite sport (desirable).
  • Post‑graduate qualification in Sports Rehabilitation / S&C (desirable).
  • Subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
