We are seeking a passionate and experienced U21 Academy Performance Analyst to support the development of Professional Development Phase (PDP) players as they transition toward first‑team football. Working closely with U21 coaches, you will lead and deliver elite, evidence‑based video and data analysis across pre‑match, live, and post‑match phases, providing performance insights that enhance both individual player development and team performance. This role is central to the club’s player pathway, requiring strong experience within elite academy environments and a genuine commitment to preparing young players for the professional game.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre Match Analysis – Proactively lead the preparation of insightful pre‑match opposition analysis, providing coaching staff with clear and concise insights on tactical trends, strengths, weaknesses and key player profiles to help inform match strategy and game planning.
  • Live Analysis – Lead the delivery of comprehensive live analysis on matchdays, capturing and coding video footage in real‑time to give coaching staff actionable insights that support in‑game decision making and half‑time feedback.
  • Post Match Analysis – Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the delivery and development of post‑match analysis processes, educating players and colleagues on its application and value, and creating impactful post‑match materials that encourage reflection and discussion on key learnings and areas for improvement.
  • Training Analysis – Capture training footage, striking an appropriate balance between collection and usage, providing feedback and linking footage to identified team and individual development areas.
  • Performance Tracking – Support objective tracking of team and individual performance through analysis, interpretation and visualisation of third‑party data sources, measuring game model principles and player development while maintaining video databases linked to Individual Development Plans.
  • Coach Education – Contribute to the ongoing development of the Academy’s philosophy by applying best practice from training and match footage analysis, working closely with the Academy Performance Analysis Lead and Academy Director to continuously enhance core session content and game model libraries.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience in elite football analysis – Demonstrated record of delivering high‑level performance analysis in professional settings with a deep technical and tactical understanding of football.
  • Experience within academy football – Work in youth development environments, understanding best practice in supporting player growth through performance analysis.
  • Effective communicator – Ability to present performance insights clearly and confidently to coaches and multidisciplinary staff, tailoring communication to different audiences.
  • Adaptable and detail‑focused – Thrive in a fast‑paced environment, maintaining accuracy and high standards while adapting quickly to changing demands and priorities.
  • Advanced technical proficiency – Competent in key analysis tools such as Hudl Sportscode, Studio & Insight, Apple Keynote, Tableau and Microsoft Office.
