Landscape Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Landscape Manager.
The Landscape Manager is responsible for planning, delivering, and maintaining exceptional landscape and horticultural standards across all club facilities, including the training ground, stadium surrounds, academy sites, and associated properties.
The role ensures that all external environments reflect the standards required at LFC, supporting player performance, visitor experience, brand image, and sustainable operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the management, maintenance, and enhancement of all landscaped and horticultural areas across club sites, ensuring consistently high standards of presentation.
- Deliver seasonal landscape programmes including planting, pruning, turf care, irrigation, weed control, and environmental maintenance.
- Oversee the upkeep of trees, shrub beds, water features, pathways, and hard landscaping, maintaining elite standards across all public and operational spaces.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of landscape technicians and gardeners, supporting performance, training, and professional development.
- Plan and coordinate daily operations, ensuring efficient allocation of labour, equipment, and resources.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including risk assessments, safe machinery use, and maintenance of operational records.
- Champion sustainable landscaping practices, supporting biodiversity, water conservation, waste reduction, and the club's sustainability strategy.
- Lead landscape improvement and renovation projects, managing budgets, procurement, contractors, and project delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Grounds, Facilities, and Operations teams to support matchday, event, and site presentation requirements.
- Represent the landscaping function in cross‑departmental planning and stakeholder meetings, driving continuous improvement across club environments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing landscape, horticultural, or grounds teams at a senior level.
- Advanced knowledge of horticulture, turf care, irrigation, and planting schemes.
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
- Excellent organisational and project‑management abilities.
- Competent in using landscaping machinery and tools, with relevant certificates (PA1, PA6, PA2, chainsaw, etc.).
- Understanding of sustainability practices and modern landscape techniques.
- Full UK driving licence.
- High attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
- Calm under pressure with the ability to respond to operational challenges.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team‑first approach.
- Pride in delivering world‑class environments that enhance club reputation.
- Desirable: Experience in an elite sports environment (football or similar high‑performance settings).
- Desirable: NVQ3/HND or Degree in Horticulture, Landscaping, or a related discipline.
