Liverpool Football Club is seeking an experienced Grounds Person to join our team, playing a key role in delivering elite level playing surfaces across our football facilities.

What will you be doing?

  • Carry out daily pitch maintenance, including mowing, aeration, line marking, divoting, fertilising and foliar spraying.
  • Accurately record and log all maintenance activity in line with company procedures.
  • Monitor grass health and identify issues such as weeds, pests and disease.
  • Operate and programme irrigation systems to meet surface requirements.
  • Understand and support the operation of drainage and undersoil heating systems.
  • Maintain all synthetic surfaces in accordance with agreed maintenance regimes.
  • Carry out basic maintenance tasks, report faults and support repairs as required.
  • Support end-of-season pitch renovations across all sites, ensuring surfaces meet required standards ahead of the new season.
  • Safely operate, clean and maintain horticultural machinery and equipment to a high standard.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Line Manager.

Who are we looking for?

Applicants must have extensive experience working in a ground’s maintenance role within a sporting environment and hold an NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf or equivalent. It is desirable that candidates are qualified in the safe use of pesticides (PA1 and PA6) and are competent to safely operate mowers, utility vehicles and tractors. Experience working within sports grounds and holding PA2 certification would be beneficial but is not essential.
