We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Senior Specialist

Social Media.

What will you be doing?

The Senior Specialist - Social Media operates within the Social team as part of the wider Creative Content team, delivering engaging, high-quality day-to-day content across the Clubs social media platforms.

This includes the creation and publication of organic, branded, sponsored, marketing, and communications content.

The role is focused on driving the continued growth of LFCs social channels, enhancing engagement levels, and maximising conversion opportunities where applicable, including driving traffic to owned and operated platforms.

What will you be doing?

  • Create and optimise social-first content that increases engagement, reach, community growth, and brand affinity.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to shape the Clubs global social media presence, introducing innovative ideas, formats, and concepts.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including Content, Graphics, Commercial, and Marketing teams, to develop and deliver branded content and paid social campaigns.
  • Identify social trends, cultural moments, and emerging platform opportunities relevant to our audience.
  • Support the Clubs ambition to remain at the forefront of social media innovation and best practice by monitoring competitor activity and broader industry trends.
  • Provide comprehensive matchday social media coverage at Anfield and across away fixtures, including Premier League, Champions League, WSL, and Academy matches.
  • Utilise research, analytics, and performance measurement tools, working collaboratively with relevant departments to inform and optimise content strategy.
  • Ensure all activity aligns with brand, platform, and partner requirements.

Who are we looking for?

Essential Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of LFCs squads, including players, managers, and coaching staff across mens, womens, and youth teams.
  • Deep understanding of football and elite sport, with the ability to translate insight into content that supports defined KPIs and objectives.
  • Experience working within the sport/ elite sport industry.
  • Proven ability to work within cross-functional media and marketing teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Expert knowledge of key social media platforms, including (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Tik Tok, Snapchat, You Tube, and Whats App.
  • Ability to respond quickly to real-time developments, making confident, informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail in content creation and publishing.

Essential Functional / Technical Skills

  • Highly collaborative, with experience working effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with social media management platforms for scheduling, approvals, publishing, tagging, and reporting.
  • Experience producing video and graphic content using template-based tools and/or Adobe Creative Suite (e. g.

Photoshop, Premiere), as well as platforms such as Tellyo, Grabyo, and Opta Match Graphics.

  • Ability to analyse and report on content performance, drawing actionable insights to improve future output.
