We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Finance Business Partner on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This role is designed to support the FP&A team in all aspects of financial planning and analysis, aligned to the key deadlines and deliverables of the team.You will work in partnership with Finance colleagues as well as key non finance stakeholders such as budget holders and managers to shape, develop and deliver financial plans, both short term and medium term in line with the needs and priorities of the Club.
What will you be doing?
- Manage the monthly forecast process for relevant business areas, with a key focus on P&L, Cashflow and helping to ensure financial sustainability while also maintaining and the communication of Opportunities and Risks.
- Proactively identify and deliver financial analysis and data to support the Director, FP&A and CFO as well as the wider team in their role, with a commitment to timely and accurate provision of financial information to help support the reputational excellence of the team.
- Take ownership of business partnering for specific departments and work with Leaders of the relevant areas to support decision making through insightful information provision and analysis.
- Take ownership of monthly production of information for regular reporting packs, which feed into monthly ExCo updates as well as production of any other key reporting packs provided to CFO and senior leadership team.
- Provide financial support to the business and management of Capex Budget through the production of robust business cases, Capex forecasting both in year and long term and annual Capex budget process. This also supports the senior team in being able to approve key Capex spend.
- Work collaboratively across the FP&A and other Finance departments to ensure that we are working towards aligned goals and standards.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of the financial framework and keep up to date with external trends and drive own personal development in line with best practice.
Who are we looking for?
- Degree and professional qualification is essential (ACA,ACCA,CIMA).
- Commercial acumen and a detailed understanding of the business area.
- Strong attention to detail and balanced with the speed in which information needs to be provided for effective decision making.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, able to develop strong working relationships with a view to gaining regular feedback at all levels.
- Proven implementer, persuasive and assertive in order to drive continuous improvement within the FP&A team.
- Comfortable with change, embrace it and helping to support delivery of required information.
- Ability to manage priorities simultaneously with tight timeframes whilst keeping a close eye on priorities.
- Strong collaboration to foster close relationships with senior finance leadership teams.
- Ability to create insights from a variety of data sources and provide support in recommendations
