Administrative Support

  • Assist the Primary Administrator.
  • Assist with photocopying and printing.
  • Order supplies including stationery, classroom resources, and food items.
  • Undertake administrative tasks to support the delivery of an effective administrative service to staff.
  • Communicate with parents in person, over the phone or via email / MCAS.
  • Manage the primary mailbox.
  • Assist with preparation of the weekly newsletter.
  • Organise online and in‑person parents' evenings.
  • Prepare registers and class lists as required.
  • Support with cash management and charity donations.
  • Support with attendance.
  • Support with headteacher awards, sports days and colours.
  • Attend meetings and take notes as required.
  • Receive and direct telephone calls and emails as appropriate.
  • Answer enquiries from staff, pupils, parents and general public.

Reception

  • Ensure the reception office is manned at all times.
  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors to the school, controlling access to the buildings and campus and ensuring visitor safeguarding protocols are strictly adhered to.
  • Promote a professional and courteous service, consistent with the school ethos.
  • Contribute to the development of office systems to meet changing needs and improve the services provided.
  • Support, uphold and contribute to the development of the school's equal rights policies and practices in respect to both employment issues and the delivery of services to the community.
  • Be a nominated first aider and provide first aid to staff and pupils as required.

General Duties

  • Follow the guidelines of the staff handbook.
  • Support the school and its leadership.
  • Continue personal development as agreed.
  • Engage actively in the performance review process.
  • Comply with any reasonable request from the Principal to undertake work not specified in this job specification.
  • Be courteous to colleagues and parents, providing a welcoming environment for all visitors to the college.
  • Undertake, from time to time, other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility defined in this job description.
