The role:
The Sport Liverpool team deliver, support and bid for major sports events for Liverpool and the Liverpool City Region. We work closely with UK Sport, national governing bodies and international Federations to deliver events that showcase the sport, the city and deliver lasting economic and social impacts for our communities.
This role will be at the heart of bidding for future events and is critical to supporting the existing event portfolio which includes the 2025 World Boxing Championships and being one of the eight host cities for the UEFA EURO 2028 tournament to be hosted by the UK and Ireland. This role will be integral to maintaining Liverpool’s position as a major sport event hosting city.
In the role of Major Sports Event Project Officer, you will:
- Support the Head of Major Sports Events on the daily running of the service
- Lead on administration of the Sport Liverpool Board and Major Events Governance models
- Support on research and stakeholder engagement as part of event bidding
- Support event delivery through coordination of activity across multiple functional areas
