A vacancy has arisen for a Day/Night Mechanical Fitter within the Maintenance Delivery team based at the Asset Management depot in Wallasey. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the team who maintain some of Liverpool City Region’s key and historic assets such as Kingsway and Queensway tunnels and other key transport infrastructure across the region. The successful candidate will be a member of the day/night shift team, responsible for carrying out both planned mechanical maintenance and emergency/reactive tasks safely and within agreed timescales across the Mersey Tunnels and wider estate as required. Working collaboratively as part of a team, they will support the delivery of maintenance and installation projects, operating under the supervision of a Team Leader and reporting to the Principal Officer, Works Delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned mechanical maintenance and emergency/reactive tasks safely and within agreed timescales.
  • Support delivery of maintenance and installation projects across the Mersey Tunnels and wider estate.
  • Work within a day/night shift team and under the supervision of a Team Leader, reporting to the Principal Officer, Works Delivery.

About The Person (Qualifications)

  • Full UK Driving License.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent) or recognised apprenticeship completed and time-served in the mechanical fitter trade.
  • Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Flexible, reliable team player who can adapt to varying demands and a commitment to continuous improvement.
