About the Role

With a brand‑new ferry preparing to enter service, we’re looking for someone ready to help shape an exciting new chapter for one of the Liverpool City Region’s most loved visitor experiences. As Commercial, Leisure & Events Deputy Lead, you’ll help deliver a bold and varied programme of events, hospitality, commercial partnerships and unforgettable customer experiences across Mersey Ferries and Tunnel Tours. Working with the Commercial, Leisure & Events Lead and team, you’ll be at the centre of public events, private and corporate functions, community activity, River Explorer Cruises and themed sailings. No two days will be the same. You’ll keep activity moving safely and smoothly, support key decisions, deputise when needed and build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, partners, community groups and commercial clients.
About the Person
We are looking for someone with energy, creativity and confidence who loves making things happen. You’ll thrive in a busy customer and events environment, working with colleagues, partners and suppliers to deliver brilliant experiences that grow income, strengthen our offer and leave a lasting impression. You’ll help keep operations running smoothly, support exciting events and hospitality activity, host charters and functions with confidence, and spot new commercial opportunities across vessel hires, partnerships and customer experiences. You will also bring strong judgement and calm leadership, supporting safe, compliant and well‑managed delivery, using feedback to improve what we do, coaching the Senior Event Coordinator and deputising for the Commercial, Leisure and Events Lead when needed.

- Event delivery & customer experience – Describe a significant event, hospitality programme, visitor experience or commercial activity you planned and delivered, including your role, logistics, risks, customer experience, income or reputation benefits, and the outcome.
- Operational Leadership and stakeholder management – Give an example of when you led activity, coordinated colleagues or deputised in a busy operational setting, including your responsibilities, stakeholder working, priorities, decisions and impact.
- Supplier management, compliance and continuous improvement – Describe your experience working with suppliers, contractors or partners to deliver safe, compliant and high‑quality services, including procurement, contract or performance management, use of feedback or data, and results achieved.
