We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to lead the development and implementation of our strategic policies aimed at tackling health disparities across the City Region, utilising data analysis to identify key areas of concern and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to design and align effective policy interventions that improve population health.

This is a unique opportunity to support our ambition to make the city region a great place to grow up, grow a family, and grow a business where no-one is left behind. The Lead Officer for Health Inequalities will shape the work of the Combined Authority, enabling the organisation to play an active role in the local health and wider public service systems. Joining what is already a high performing policy service area, you will play a key role in delivering a joined-up employment, skills and health offer building on our region’s strengths and working to address its underlying challenges through innovation, creativity, and collaboration.

About the person

If you have a sound knowledge and understanding of the population health agenda and are experienced in developing policy and strategy, this could be the role for you. We want someone with the ability to shape future policy thinking locally and nationally, and who can work proactively, building strong relationships with stakeholders and our constituent authorities to deliver better outcomes across the city region.

We are looking for someone who can deliver high quality, technical policy input, providing strategic expertise and guidance to our Leadership Team, working across the wider policy team to ensure a health in all policies approach. You will be politically aware with the ability to work at pace and have a track record of operating in a complex policy environment.
