The Combined Authority is committed to making Liverpool City Region the best digitally connected area in the country, with the organisation’s Corporate Plan identifying a series of commitments in this sector. The Digital Infrastructure team is seeking a Digital Infrastructure Trainee to assist in delivering this ambition. You can expect to work across various aspects of digital infrastructure, including mobile connectivity, fixed-line and “smart cities”. Your workload will include developing project management documentation (e.g. programmes and risk registers), report writing, stakeholder engagement and data analysis.

The successful candidate should demonstrate an interest in digital infrastructure and, ideally, have experience of report writing and basic data analysis. Whilst this role is not a formal Apprenticeship role, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will undertake an apprenticeship, the subject and level for which will be agreed with the post holder.

This entry-level role is ideal for a person with strong curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the motivation to develop new skills in a fast-evolving field. You will enjoy working with others, asking questions, and getting involved in a variety of tasks that support our digital infrastructure ambitions. Key Essential Criteria
  • Demonstrate your interest in digital infrastructure and/or the built environment.
  • Please outline any experience that demonstrates your ability to work with different stakeholders, being flexible and meeting task deadlines.
  • Please outline any experience you have in conducting research, collating, analysing and interpreting data and using for reporting.
