Contracts: 3x Permanent + 1x fixed‑term maternity cover (12 months)
The Role
We invite applications from experienced Environmental Health Officers or newly qualified officers eager to develop Port Health skills. Successful candidates will enforce United Kingdom legislation through enforcement, advice, guidance, and education, and will carry out inspections and classifications at the Port of Liverpool. Monitor and review all imports of products of animal origin and food not of animal origin, including documentary checks, inspection, and sampling. Verify certificates of organic products at the point of import. Conduct ship sanitation inspections of cruise ships, ferries, merchant vessels, small passenger vessels, and pleasure craft to ensure compliance with UK and international standards. Provide liaison, advice, and guidance on communicable disease control matters at the Port of Liverpool and Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
