We’re looking for a developer who wants their work to have real-world impact. As part of our Digital Technology team, you’ll build and improve the digital services that residents rely on every day—from accessing key services online to helping modernise how the organisation operates. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful, high-volume services while helping shape the council’s digital future. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle—from understanding user needs and designing solutions to delivery, integration and ongoing improvement—using technologies such as .NET, Umbraco, C#, HTML5, SQL Server, Microsoft 365 and other platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build digital services used across the city: design, develop and deliver web applications and services using technologies such as .NET, Umbraco, C#, HTML5 and SQL Server.
  • Work end‑to‑end: take part in the full development lifecycle, from requirements and design through to testing, integration and release.
  • Shape and improve solutions: enhance existing systems and contribute to scalable, resilient architectures across our digital estate.
  • Collaborate across services: work closely with stakeholders to understand needs, agree solutions and deliver value.
  • Build secure, compliant systems: apply security standards and best practice to ensure systems are safe and robust.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement: keep up to date with emerging technologies and help shape how we develop and deliver services.
