As an Out of Hours Advice and Prevention Officer you will provide urgent homelessness assistance outside normal working hours, offering advice and guidance, assessing immediate housing needs and arranging emergency accommodation. Your decisions will always be made in line with relevant legislation and statutory duties. You will work closely with the out‑of‑hours assessment & prevention lead, partner agencies and the day‑time Housing Solutions teams to ensure seamless service delivery and continuity of support.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide urgent advice, support and guidance to people experiencing homelessness outside normal working hours.
  • Assess immediate housing needs and secure appropriate emergency accommodation.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and the daytime Housing Solutions teams to coordinate care and support.
  • Safeguard vulnerable individuals and families, managing complex situations and making informed, rapid decisions in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Good communication and decision‑making skills, aligned with statutory obligations.
Employment terms:

Part‑time, 17.5 hours per week including evenings, weekends and public holidays as part of a rota, with applicable allowances. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement combining office‑based and home working, and full training, ongoing development and comprehensive support.
