Join Liverpool Children and Young People’s Services as we integrate our SEND and Inclusion services. The Learning Support Mentor of the Visually Impaired will provide specialist support to young children with visual impairments in school, helping to enhance the child’s independence and facilitate a smooth transition into educational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist support to young children with visual impairments in school.
  • Enhance the child’s independence and facilitate smooth transition into educational environments.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes the Operational Leader (VI), Qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (QTVI) and support staff.
  • Report directly to the Operational Leader (VI) and act as the first point of contact for referrals.
  • Work as part of a fixed‑term maternity leave cover role, ending 31st August 2027.
