The role is to join our Sport and Recreation team and support residents to improve their health and wellbeing through tailored physical activity programmes. This is a rewarding opportunity to work directly with residents across the city, delivering sessions in settings such as Lifestyles Centres and community venues, supporting individuals referred through schemes like GP Exercise Referral and Falls Prevention.
The Health and Wellbeing Instructor role is suitable for qualified fitness professionals who are confident working with people with long‑term health conditions, older adults, and those at risk of social isolation. You will design personalised exercise plans, lead group sessions, and provide motivational support to help participants build confidence and independence. Responsibilities- Deliver inclusive, safe, and effective sessions in community settings and Lifestyles Centres.
- Work with participants referred through schemes such as GP Exercise Referral and Falls Prevention.
- Design personalised exercise plans for individuals and groups.
- Lead group sessions and provide motivational support to help participants build confidence and independence.
- Support residents to improve health and wellbeing through tailored physical activity programmes.
- Qualified fitness professional with confidence in working with people with long‑term health conditions, older adults, and those at risk of social isolation.
- Ability to design personalised exercise plans and lead safe, effective sessions.
- At least 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays rising to 32 after 5 years’ service (pro rata if part time) with option to purchase further days.
