We are recruiting three Driver Operatives to support the Gateway Cleansing Team within the Neighbourhood & Housing Directorate. The role involves driving and operating company vehicles, including a HAKO Citymaster 1650, to sweep highways and pedestrian footways, as well as carrying out various street cleaning duties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving mechanical sweeping vehicles, weed spraying, leaf clearance, cycle lane cleansing, chewing gum removal, oil stain and spill cleanup, graffiti removal, faeces and dead animal removal, low‑level street washing using jet washing equipment, and emptying street litter bins.
- Working weekend and bank holiday shifts, receiving an additional allowance of £6,014 per annum.
Qualifications:
- Full UK driving licence, category B.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
