Liverpool City Council is seeking to create a bank of HR Investigating Officers, and we’re looking to hear from experienced professionals who can support us by undertaking independent employee relations investigations on an as and when required basis.

This opportunity is ideal for: Former HR professionals Employee Relations specialists Experienced managers who have conducted complex workplace investigations Professionals with expertise in gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and producing high-quality investigation reports As an HR Investigating Officer, you’ll play an important role in ensuring employee relations matters are investigated fairly, objectively, and in line with our policies and employment law principles.

You’ll be responsible for: Conducting independent and impartial workplace investigations including disciplinary, grievance and harassment Interviewing employees and witnesses collating findings into reports Reviewing evidence and establishing the relevant facts, attending hearings when required Producing clear, comprehensive and balanced investigation reports with recommendations, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment Maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity, communicating complex and sensitive information, and handling any conflict that arises We’re looking for people with exceptional analytical, interviewing, and report-writing experience and knowledge, who are confident handling sensitive and often complex HR issues with fairness and sound judgement.
