Responsibilities
- Carry out the statutory assessment and EHC plan review process, ensuring children and young people with SEND are placed and supported suitably in line with relevant legislation.
- Manage a caseload of children and young people under assessment for EHC plans and a cohort with existing EHC plans.
- Act as the first point of contact for families, providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive, effective relationships with families and professionals.
- Work in partnership with other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people, working as part of multi‑agency teams.
- Work independently on a specified caseload, meeting statutory timescales and deadlines, and use IT (Microsoft Office Suite) effectively.
- Apply mediation and negotiation skills to support families and manage legal challenges under pressure.
- Use in‑depth knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SENDIST regulations to support cases.
