Role overview: This role provides essential operational support for the city’s street cleansing programme as part of the Gateway Cleansing Team.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate company vehicles, including HAKO Citymaster 1650, for highway and pedestrian footway sweeping.
- Operate mechanical sweeping vehicles as a lone worker, supporting weed spraying, leaf clearance and cycle lane cleansing outside the city centre.
- Assist with removal of gum, oil stains, graffiti, faeces and dead animals, perform low‑level street washing with jet washing equipment, and empty street litter bins as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (Category B).
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work the contract schedule, including weekends and bank holidays.
