Role overview: This role provides essential operational support for the city’s street cleansing programme as part of the Gateway Cleansing Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive and operate company vehicles, including HAKO Citymaster 1650, for highway and pedestrian footway sweeping.
  • Operate mechanical sweeping vehicles as a lone worker, supporting weed spraying, leaf clearance and cycle lane cleansing outside the city centre.
  • Assist with removal of gum, oil stains, graffiti, faeces and dead animals, perform low‑level street washing with jet washing equipment, and empty street litter bins as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence (Category B).
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work the contract schedule, including weekends and bank holidays.
