The role:

This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a new team and make a difference to the lives of children and their families. Alongside the team manager, you will be responsible for the running of a new Edge of Care Children’s Home which provides short breaks and outreach support to children and their families within the community where there is a risk of family breakdown.

  • As a Deputy Team Manager you will take responsibility for staff development, providing supervision, guidance and management oversight around key working and the delivery of bespoke work to ensure children’s needs are met, that they are supported to make good progress, and can develop emotionally within a safe and stable environment.
  • You will support the team manager to monitor team performance through audits and performance management processes.
  • You will hold financial responsibilities alongside the manager and adhere to the Financial Regulations of the City Council.
  • You will at times deputise for the team manager to ensure the smooth running of the service and that the setting operates within accordance to Regulatory Frameworks and Statutory Guidance.
  • You will be required to work within specific policies and procedures and with partner agencies to safeguard children and young people.
