Our Role
- 30 hours per week, part‑time Sous Chef opportunity
- Majority of hours between Thursday and Sunday
Key Sous Chef Responsibilities
- Maximise dry sales by ensuring only the best food leaves the kitchen
- Comply with food standards and guidelines
- Compliance with Health & Safety policies & procedures
- Support the General Manager with training in the new menus to our teams
- Supplier ordering and maintain correct stock levels
About The Perky Nel, Clapham South
The Perky Nel is a lively and cheerful venue offering satisfying British food and drink from local suppliers and producers. The venue features a dedicated sports area with giant screens and a large outdoor terrace with fantastic views over the Common. It is just a two–minute walk from Clapham South tube station and is part of the Livelyhood pub group, an established London‑based operator of independent neighbourhood pubs.

Hospitality is at our core; we’re not “Gastro” but we truly believe in fresh produce, cooked to order, that’s as tasty as we can make it. Fast‑track career progression is a real possibility for Sous Chefs who want it, and we run a back‑of‑house apprenticeship partnership to actively support career development. We currently operate seven independent pubs across London.

About You
Experience in a similar position preferred. If you’re ready to step up into a Sous Chef role, please let us know. We’re looking for passion for fresh produce, consistent, flavoursome food, clear communication in English, good organisational skills, knowledge of H & S and a strong work ethic.

- Competitive hourly rates of up to £13.25–£14.75 per hour depending on experience
- PLEAS additional service/tronc up to £1–£1.50 per hour, bringing OTE to £16.25 ph
