Invigorate Recruitment is working with its client to recruit a Junior Accessories Buyer to work side by side with a Senior Buyer in product development and product selection within accessories, nightwear, swim and cover ups. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate. It is an established area with exciting, varied product.
The Junior Buyer will be responsible for both product selection and product development, working closely with the buying and design teams to bring key looks together and drive sales and profit across the department. This role would suit a senior assistant ready for the next step or a junior buyer.
Responsibilities- Develop branded ranges in line with customer demand, margin targets, and profitability.
- Identify gaps and develop new product opportunities, driving agility and sales-focused decision-making.
- Maintain strong market and competitor awareness to ensure ranges remain competitive and relevant.
- Analyse daily sales and trading data to identify bestsellers, slow movers, and opportunities, reacting quickly to maximise profit.
- Review in-season trading performance and report insights and actions to the Head of Buying.
- Ensure profit and service are maximised while minimising overstocks.
- Partner with Merchandising to plan buys and deliver seasonal budgets.
- Agree range plans, stock flow, margins, and pricing to ensure the right stock is delivered at the right time.
- Develop and manage critical paths in collaboration with Merchandising, Design, and QA.
- Oversee product launches through effective critical path management.
- Manage and develop supplier relationships.
- Experience at either senior assistant or junior buyer level within a buying team on womens clothing or accessories.
- Sound understanding of critical path management.
- Able to analyse data.
- Good market knowledge and competitor understanding.
- Experience of working across departments such as QC, merchandise, creative and marketing.
- Ability to create and maintain good supplier relationships.
- Experienced in negotiation.
