LiveLink Aerospace is at the forefront of aerospace, defence, and security innovation—developing cutting‑edge RF, radar, and electronic surveillance technologies. Our team operates in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment where creativity, integrity, and precision are vital. We’re driven by purpose: delivering solutions that safeguard airspace and infrastructure with intelligence and agility.

We are looking for a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and integration of electronic hardware, from concept to production within our RF and radar‑based systems. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in embedded systems, PCB design, and analogue/digital circuit development, and is enthusiastic about working in a collaborative and agile environment.

Security Clearance: Due to the nature of our projects and the sensitive data we handle, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC). This requires having lived in the UK for the last 5 years and holding a valid passport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, and develop analogue and digital circuits for aerospace and surveillance applications.
  • Develop embedded systems using microcontrollers, FPGAs, or SoCs (ARM, STM32, Xilinx, etc.).
  • Create and manage PCB layouts and schematics using Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools.
  • Perform board bring‑up, hardware debugging, and prototype validation.
  • Support system integration across RF, radar, and software teams.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, EMC, safety, and environmental compliance standards (e.g., CE, MIL‑STD, DEF STAN).
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners on component selection, BOM optimisation, and DFM/DFT practices.
  • Maintain technical documentation including schematics, test procedures, and hardware manuals.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have Security Clearance, or the eligibility to obtain.
  • Proven experience designing and testing electronic systems, including low‑noise analogue and high‑speed digital circuits.
  • Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle).
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, grounding, EMI/EMC principles.
  • Hands‑on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analysers, spectrum analysers, multimeters, etc.
  • Ability to debug and resolve hardware issues independently and systematically.
  • Experience working with or integrating RF modules, SDRs, or power supply systems.
  • Experience with aerospace or defence‑grade electronics.
  • Familiarity with RF front‑end design and signal conditioning.
  • Knowledge of environmental testing standards and ruggedisation techniques.
  • Experience with embedded C/C++, VHDL/Verilog, or firmware development tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation best practices.
  • Understanding of UK export control and defence compliance requirements.
