LiveLab, an independent laboratory business established in 2006, provides analytical services to the agricultural, environmental and related industries. Based in Oakham, LiveLab has grown substantially from its modest beginnings to serve a diverse range of major customers and multinational clients across the UK, Europe and further afield. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality analysis, contributing to the success and sustainability of our clients whilst maintaining a small, friendly family business atmosphere.
This is a full-time on-site role for a Laboratory Technician based near Oakham in Rutland. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, performing quality control tests, conducting various laboratory analyses, and adhering to safety and procedural standards. Daily tasks will include sample preparation, data recording, and collaborating with team members to ensure accurate and efficient lab operations. On a daily basis we handle samples such as waste waters, sludges, slurries, grain, animal feeds and soils. The candidate would be happy working with any of these materials and we would try to tailor the role to suit an excellent candidate.
Qualifications:
- A level in Chemistry is desirable.
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment and laboratory skills.
- Strong quality control and analytical skills.
- Experience as a Laboratory Technician.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant certification or a degree in a scientific field is preferred.
