Location: Banbury / Travelling

For the past 10 years, Live Wire has worked across Formula 1, supplying technology to the major teams and F1 Management. Our work varies from constructing viewer experiences in teams’ hospitality suites, paddock, garages and factories elevating each of the 24 races a year. We work closely with our suppliers to deliver pioneering technology and integrate innovation into all of the work we do.

Live Wire provides AV technology for all genres of events including Festivals, Concerts, Conferences, Theatre and Dance. We work with large concert halls in London such as Southbank Centre, Barbican, Sadlers Wells to provide technicians, support and equipment.

Due to an increase in new project activity, Live Wire are looking to appoint a Production Video System Technician. In this role, you’ll play a key role in bringing ambitious projects to life. You’ll work hands-on with the latest video systems, ensuring state-of-the-art setups are perfectly integrated and ready to shine in exciting environments. From LED walls to complex projection systems, your expertise will be essential to making everything run seamlessly.

As a Production Video System Technician your duties will be to:

  • Craft and Refine Systems: Work closely with clients and production teams to understand project goals.
  • Build and Manage Systems: Create, configure and operate custom video playback and distribution systems. Ensure that every frame of video looks stunning, whether displayed on an LED wall or projected across a stage.
  • Lead On-Site Installations: Install and integrate virtual production systems on-site, ensuring that every element is set up for success.
  • Ensure Signal Integration: Work alongside production teams to ensure all video signals are correctly integrated and configured, maintaining a flawless workflow from start to finish.
  • Improve Through Feedback: After each project, provide insights to refine and improve system designs continually, keeping the company at the forefront of virtual production technology.
  • Innovate: Collaborate with fellow Live Wire team members to explore and implement new technologies, ensuring the company stays ahead in this fast-evolving field.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Video Systems Knowledge: Proven experience in video processing, screen management, and signal distribution within production environments with proven experience in operating in a show environment.
  • Networking Expertise: Strong understanding of managed networking environments and fibre distribution, with experience applying them in virtual production setups.
  • Camera Systems: Familiarity with broadcast, film, and TV camera systems, including setup and integration with production environments.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills in resolving issues within complex, integrated systems, particularly under the pressure of live production.
  • Industry Insight: Knowledgeable about visual effects & broadcast engineering workflows.

Additional Requirements:

  • 5 years experience working within events of varying demand, including leadership roles.
  • A good knowledge in lighting & sound and have the confidence to understand and manage all aspects of a project.
