We are looking to recruit a seasoned Senior Technician with either a specialism in Video or Lighting. The roles require a strong technical skill set and the successful candidate will be a key team member helping to support our clients and bring their technical projects to life. Candidates who can offer a cross-discipline skill set will have an advantage. The role will be based out of our Edinburgh office but requires flexibility as there will be work on various sites and locations. This is an ideal opportunity to work in a technically challenging role in an exciting, creative company – all while broadening your experience and enhancing your technical skill set. The role will cover many aspects of event production, from initial design and specification through to event delivery. As we are a smaller company, you will be responsible for both your own specialty but willing to assist in other disciplines. In addition, as a senior role, you will be expected to mentor staff with lower experience levels to help them grow their technical skill set.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have a strong technical mind set, be a great communicator and demonstrate strong interpersonal and client skills.

Role Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a technical event related role.
  • Experience of working in a rental/production company.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • A full UK driving license.
Technical skill requirements - Video
  • Proficiency in the operation of projectors, screens and video signal processing/switching/distribution equipment.
  • Proficiency in the operation of VC/Streaming equipment and platforms.
  • Proficiency in audio systems for video and speech.
Technical skill requirements - Lighting
  • Proficiency in the setup of stage lighting equipment.
  • Proficiency in the design of lighting systems for a range of event types.
  • Proficiency in the design and build of rigging for lighting elements.
Salary & Hours

The role is based around a standard 37.5 hour week. The standard business hours are 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. It is expected that the successful applicant will be flexible and be willing to work alternative shifts and such additional hours as the job demands including early mornings, evenings and weekends - all by agreement. Additional overtime is normal for this role and will be paid on top of your base salary or can be taken as time in lieu. Salary range: £32 - £37k per annum + OT – dependent on experience. We offer a competitive holiday package starting at 30 days annually. We also aim to be flexible with requests for additional time off which can be balanced out using accrued time in lieu. Training will also be provided to add additional skills and knowledge as required for the work you will be required to do.
