The Role
Due to strategic development, our client is now looking for an Event Operations & Planning Manager to join their central events function.
This unique position combines strategic operational planning, process improvement, and project coordination with hands‑on event delivery support.
Acting as the operational backbone of the department, the Event Operations & Planning Manager will ensure teams have the tools, visibility, and frameworks they need to deliver consistently high-quality events.
This is a broad and impactful role where duties include
- Maintaining resource planning tools, capacity trackers, and workload visibility across the portfolio.
- Creating, continuously improving, and managing standard operating procedures and planning templates.
- Tracking project milestones, risks, actions, and dependencies across multi‑departmental teams.
- Leading post‑event reviews to ensure key learnings are embedded into future delivery frameworks.
- Managing selected events directly and providing on‑site operational support during peak global delivery periods.
- Managing direct reports, including Operations Coordinators and Assistants, where applicable.
- The Candidate
Candidates should ideally be working in a similar capacity as an Event Operations & Planning Manager or an Event Project Manager with a heavy focus on governance, process design, and resource allocation.
Proven experience in delivering complex, large‑scale events, conferences, or major awards programmes is essential.
The ideal candidate must be highly proficient with project management software (such as Monday. com, Asana, or Smartsheet) and possess advanced Excel skills.
Most importantly, our client is looking for a collaborative, solutions‑focused professional who balances meticulous analytical planning with a passion for live event delivery.
