Event Project Manager in Oxford

Oxford Full-Time No working from home possible
Live Recruitment

Hybrid working: 3 days in office

Major rugby tournaments, high-profile sport sponsorship activations, hospitality programmes at some of the biggest fixtures in the calendar. This is the kind of portfolio an Event Project Manager spends years trying to reach. This role puts you there from day one, across a varied slate of formats, for an agency whose work genuinely gets noticed.

- High-profile sport and rugby events for your portfolio

- Hands-on variety: sponsorship activations, hospitality, stand builds, experiential

- Annual bonus paid April, tied to performance and on-site contribution

- Individual development plan with a dedicated mentor

- Promotion from within, tied to your milestones not headcount

- Company-funded annual trip and monthly social events

The Company

This is a boutique, independent, owner-led events agency specialising in sport, sponsorship activation and immersive brand experiences. In-house design, IT and warehouse teams sit under the same roof, which means faster decisions and real collaboration across disciplines. People tend to stay once they're in, the promote-from-within approach is genuine, and the Event Project Manager role has a clear progression path tied to milestones, not headcount.

The Role

As Event Project Manager you will take client briefs from initial planning through to on-site delivery across a varied slate of sport and live brand events, working closely with Account Directors and Senior Project Managers and managing everything from supplier negotiation and budget tracking to logistics and on-site coordination.

- Develop annual event schedules and project timelines with clients

- Draft and manage quotes to meet client budgets and required margins

- Negotiate with suppliers and manage long-term supplier relationships

- Maintain and update finance trackers; monitor costs and protect margins

- Coordinate logistics, freelancers and internal resource pre-event

- Manage H&S documentation, risk assessments and supplier compliance

- Oversee on-site delivery and act as primary point of contact during events

The Candidate

The right Event Project Manager for this role has delivered events end to end and knows how to get the best from suppliers at the negotiating table. You are comfortable owning a budget, keeping a timeline honest and staying calm when plans shift on site.

Experience in sport, rugby or sponsorship activation is beneficial but not essential. Candidates from adjacent event backgrounds are very welcome to apply, and if the calibre of the work and the development structure appeal to you as an Event Project Manager, that ambition and practical approach matter more than a perfect sector match.

Portfolio quality, structured development and a salary of Β£33,000 to Β£39,000 with a performance bonus on top are all on the table here. That combination is harder to find than it should be. The consultant is scheduling first conversations now, so get your application across and put yourself in the running before it closes.
