Job Description

Hybrid working: 3 days in office

Large-scale tech conferences, international exhibitions and multi-city roadshows. This is the kind of portfolio that defines a career at senior level. An Event Account Director opportunity with a genuinely collaborative agency, leading a dedicated tech-focused team and taking full ownership of one of the most high-profile accounts in their roster.

  • Lead a high-profile global tech account. Serious portfolio calibre
  • Three direct reports: real team leadership, not just in title
  • European travel two to three times a year for major events
  • Excellent Benefits
  • Supportive, no-ego culture where everyone genuinely pitches in
  • Access to a global group benefits package

The Company

This is a production-led events agency operating at the top end of the tech sector, recently joining a global travel and events group. The team is close-knit, the culture is deliberately non-hierarchical, and people here are known for getting stuck in regardless of job title. Senior hires tend to stay. The flexibility, the calibre of work and the collaborative environment see to that.

The Role

The Event Account Director sits at the head of a dedicated sub-team, reporting into a Group Account Director, with full responsibility for delivering a varied portfolio of conferences, exhibitions, awards ceremonies and roadshows, including regular European events, while developing and supporting three direct reports.

  • Lead day-to-day client relationships across a major tech account
  • Oversee delivery of conferences, exhibitions, roadshows and awards events
  • Manage and develop a team of three across senior and mid-level positions
  • Hold budget, pitch and presentation sign-off authority across the account
  • Attend European events on site, typically two to three trips per year
  • Contribute to new business pitches and broader agency growth

The Candidate

The right Event Account Director will have solid, hands-on experience leading event delivery across complex, multi-format accounts. Someone who has held budget sign-off and presented confidently at senior client level, and who has already managed or mentored a team. Experience delivering events in a European context is important: this role goes on site internationally and you need to be comfortable owning that end of the programme.

A background in the tech sector is a natural fit, and experience with large-scale exhibitions, multi-city roadshow campaigns, sales conferences or awards ceremonies is beneficial but not essential. If you have come from an in-house brand environment and are looking to move agency-side, that experience translates well and is genuinely welcomed here. Above all, the successful Event Account Director will be someone who leads from the front and brings their team with them.

Salary is Β£50,000 to Β£60,000, alongside real flexibility, a global group benefits package and a portfolio of work that will raise your profile in the industry. This is a hard brief to turn down if you are an Event Account Director ready for a step up. Applications are being reviewed this week, so apply now to make sure yours is in the mix.
