This agency runs the full spectrum, and the Director of Events who steps in owns all of it: the strategy, the standards and the growth. This is a genuinely rare opening for a Director of Events to shape an entire events discipline with no ceiling on where it goes.

  • Full ownership of the events function, from strategy to delivery
  • 15 to 25 events annually across automotive, tech and luxury sectors
  • Discretionary bonus linked to revenue, circa 5% of base
  • 25 days holiday plus 4 paid volunteer days
  • TOIL for weekend working, flexible start and finish when extra hours are logged
  • Mileage and hire car covered for event travel

The Company: This is a boutique, full-service marketing agency with a client roster spanning prestige automotive and major global tech brands. The team is lean and the culture is deliberately non-hierarchical. Everyone delivers, ideas get backed and people tend to stay. The agency promotes from within, tenure is long and the variety of work, one sector one week and another the next, keeps it that way.

The Role: The Director of Events sits at the top of the events function and owns it entirely: setting the direction, the process and the quality bar across 15 to 25 events a year, from major productions with budgets exceeding £1m through to retail activations, roadshows, senior dinners and overseas incentive programmes.

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of the agency's most complex, high-value events
  • Set standards, processes and delivery models across all event formats
  • Manage and quality-control experiential and roadshow activity run by account teams
  • Front events credentials in pitches and new business conversations
  • Drive innovation in event product, format and delivery approach
  • Manage budgets from £25k to £1m-plus across the portfolio
  • Build team capacity, supplier relationships and operational infrastructure

The Candidate: The right Director of Events will have a strong track record of delivering large-scale, complex events end to end, from initial brief through to post-event reconciliation, with full budget accountability across a varied portfolio. You will be comfortable leading stakeholders and suppliers at a senior level, and credible in a pitch room. A background in experiential activation, roadshow design, international logistics or incentive travel is beneficial but not essential. Agency or consultancy experience would be a natural fit, as would automotive or luxury sector knowledge, though candidates from adjacent event disciplines with the right seniority and commercial instincts are equally welcome. Above all, this is a role for a Director of Events who is entrepreneurial and wants to build, not just maintain. In return you will find a genuinely open brief, a business that will back your thinking, and a package that reflects the seniority of the role.

If this sounds like the right move, get in touch and we can talk it through.
