Hybrid, 3 days minimum in office per week, Surrey. Flexible start/finish times available.

If you have built a career in B2B media sales and you want a portfolio to call your own, with the freedom to run it like your own business and the earning structure to match, this is worth reading.

  • Uncapped commission at 10% flat on all revenue you generate
  • Full autonomy over your own client portfolio from day one
  • A long-tenured, collaborative sales team where the most junior colleague has five years\' experience and several have ten to twenty, which tells you something real about what it is like to work here.
  • Hybrid working schedule
  • Flexible start and finish times built around the role, so you can cover Asian and US markets on your own schedule rather than someone else\'s.
  • The Company

This is a specialist B2B media publisher with a portfolio of publications and a calendar of in-person exhibitions spanning multiple continents.

The sectors they serve sit at the sharp end of engineering and motorsport, which means automotive publishing is central to what they do, and the clients are manufacturers, R&D specialists, race teams and global suppliers.

The publishing sales team is small and experienced, with retention driven primarily by what good performers can earn.

Ideas get backed, senior access is real, and the work spans print, digital and live events in equal measure.

Award-winning output and a blue-chip client roster give the Publication Sales Manager a strong platform to sell from on day one.

The Role

As Publication Sales Manager, you will take ownership of the advertising revenue across two premium B2B titles, covering both print and digital advertising, with a clear split between account management of existing clients and developing new business.

  • Managing and growing a portfolio of key accounts, building lasting relationships with marketing managers, directors and senior stakeholders across international client bases.
  • Driving new business development, prospecting, lead generation and converting new clients to print and digital advertising.
  • Preparing tailored proposals and campaign solutions that match client objectives across both print and digital formats.
  • Attending major third-party exhibitions and the company\'s own events to represent the publications, network, and generate leads.
  • Researching the market continuously to identify new opportunities, monitor competitor activity and keep your pipeline healthy.
  • Collaborating with internal editorial, digital and events teams to deliver joined-up solutions for clients and exceed revenue targets.
  • The Candidate

The right Publication Sales Manager is a proven B2B media sales professional who is comfortable with account management independently and motivated by what uncapped commission can actually deliver.

  • Demonstrable experience in B2B media sales, with a background in print and digital advertising sales to business clients.
  • Strong account management skills, with a track record of retaining and growing key client relationships over time.
  • Active new business development experience, including prospecting, lead generation and converting cold or lapsed clients.

A background in automotive publishing, motorsport media or specialist engineering titles is beneficial but not essential, and experience in automotive publishing from an adjacent angle, such as aftersales, fleet or trade media, translates well here.

What matters most is that you are a self-starter who can hit the ground running, communicate with confidence at a senior level, and bring the commercial discipline to manage your own patch effectively.

In return you get a genuinely uncapped commission structure, a clearly defined and autonomous portfolio, flexible working built around the role, and a team with the kind of tenure that only comes when the opportunity is real.

This Publication Sales Manager role is attracting strong interest and interviews are being arranged now, so get your application in without delay.

Live specialises in all disciplines (and at all levels) across events, experiential and exhibitions, live communications, production and creative services.

If this position is not quite right but you are looking for a new opportunity, please get in touch to discuss other options.

Live values diversity and promotes equality across our business.

We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates regardless of background, and we are happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments you may need throughout the process.
