The Role

This highly creative and strategic agency is offering a fantastic opportunity for an Event CAD Designer / Technician to join a successful, dynamic and forward-thinking team. With experience across strategy, vision, design and delivery the events are broad, global and for high profile brands!

Due to continued growth they are now looking for an Event CAD Designer / Technician to join their growing events team.

Working in a multi-talented Creative Studio alongside Conceptualisers, Graphic Designers, Visualisers, 3D and Multimedia Designers, the role is broad and covers almost every aspect of producing design and fabrication solutions, to help deliver clients\\\’ messages effectively and with high impact.

Working across a huge variety of projects including exhibitions, displays, conferences, visitor environments, product launches, roadshows and some of the largest experiential events in the world, the Event CAD Designer / Technician unites technical design with artistic prowess to produce functional drawings used to communicate ideas, price and build event components, and maintain document control.

As an Event CAD Designer / Technician you will get involved in:

  • Take brief from the Head of Studio / Creative Lead / Account Manager
  • Liaising with internal teams to produce a fully integrated solution
  • Manage all of the CAD elements
  • Research options for CAD design solutions and materials treatments
  • Develop 2D and modelled layouts
  • Prepare rough drafts and create final designs
  • Prepare designs to be sent for fabrication
  • Prepare working drawings and specification of materials
  • Produce full construction and/or installation drawings
  • Regularly liaise with external suppliers

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an Event CAD Designer / Technician with an event production agency, have strong CAD skills – fully conversant in AutoCAD 2014, especially including AutoCAD 3D modelling and an understanding of 3D Studio Max would be beneficial!
