This Technical Operations Manager position is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business at the forefront of major international sporting events, playing a key role in the delivery of one of the biggest tournaments in the world.
THE ROLE
Working closely with the Head of Technical & Operations, this Technical & Operations Manager position is a broad project management role responsible for coordinating technical planning, venue readiness and operational delivery across a portfolio of hospitality venues.
You’ll work with suppliers, contractors and internal teams to ensure every venue is fully prepared, managing projects from initial planning through to live event delivery.
Responsibilities of the Technical & Operations Manager include:
- Conduct venue inspections and assess hospitality infrastructure and operational requirements.
- Review stadium drawings, layouts and technical documentation to identify venue requirements.
- Develop integrated venue delivery programmes and operational readiness plans.
- Coordinate technical suppliers, contractors and venue stakeholders throughout planning and delivery.
- Manage logistics planning and integrate delivery schedules across multiple workstreams.
- Support procurement activities, supplier evaluations and tender processes.
- Coordinate temporary infrastructure and venue overlay requirements.
- Monitor project timelines, risks and dependencies, ensuring successful delivery milestones are achieved.
- Develop venue handover procedures and operational documentation.
- Work closely with Catering, Guest Services, Logistics and Production teams to ensure seamless venue delivery.
- Support venue operations throughout the tournament, transitioning into Venue Manager responsibilities for a complex venue during the live event.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering hospitality programmes at major sporting events, or large‑scale venue operations within a project management environment.
