This award-winning creative production studio specialises in designing and delivering large-scale live entertainment structures, touring stages and permanent public artworks for clients across the UK and internationally. Unlike many creative businesses, every stage of the process is delivered in-house, from concept design and engineering through to fabrication, logistics, installation and live delivery. Due to continued growth, the business is looking to recruit an experienced CAD Draftsperson with strong Autodesk Inventor experience to become a key part of its technical team. Working closely with the Technical Director, you'll be responsible for converting approved creative concepts into detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings and manufacturing documentation for large-scale structural projects. You'll collaborate daily with designers, engineers and in-house fabrication teams to ensure every project is practical, buildable and delivered to the highest standards.
This role offers genuine variety, working across live entertainment structures, touring productions and large-scale installations while contributing to the ongoing development of the company's innovative modular staging systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Producing detailed 3D models using Autodesk Inventor
- Creating accurate fabrication and manufacturing drawings for production
- Developing assembly drawings and technical documentation for workshop and on-site installation teams
- Producing manufacturing files for laser cutting, tube lasers and fabrication processes
- Working closely with fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable
- Supporting design development, prototyping and technical problem-solving
- Maintaining drawing libraries and version control
- Managing multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced creative environment
- Supporting the continued development of innovative modular structural systems
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience producing fabrication drawings for structural, engineering, live events or manufacturing environments
- Demonstrable Autodesk Inventor experience (essential)
- Strong 3D modelling and technical drawing skills
- Experience producing fabrication-ready manufacturing drawings
- Good understanding of fabrication methods and structural assemblies
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confidence managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication and collaborative working style
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Experience within live events, exhibitions, structural engineering, mechanical engineering or bespoke fabrication would be highly advantageous
- Knowledge of Vectorworks or Layher scaffold systems would also be beneficial but is by no means essential
