THE ROLE

We are seeking a forward-thinking Global Network Architect to design and lead the evolution of a next-generation, software-defined, and cloud-integrated global network. This role builds on strong enterprise networking fundamentals while advancing modern architectures such as SASE, Zero Trust, SD-WAN, and cloud-native networking, leveraging platforms including Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Meraki, and Zscaler. You will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing scalable, secure, and automated network solutions across corporate offices, venues (including arenas), and cloud environments, while guiding the transition from legacy infrastructure to a fully software-defined, policy-driven architecture.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Architecture & Strategy
    • Lead the design and implementation of next-generation enterprise network architecture, including LAN, WAN, cloud, edge connectivity, and smart spaces / venue intelligence network enablement.
    • Drive transformation from traditional networking to:
      • SD-WAN (Cisco Meraki / Catalyst SD-WAN)
      • SASE / Zero Trust (Zscaler ZIA/ZPA)
      • Cloud-native networking (AWS, Azure)
    • Define standards for secure, scalable, and highly available network designs across global environments.
    • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to ensure architecture aligns with company initiatives and growth.
  • Network Engineering & Operations
    • Oversee and maintain large-scale enterprise networks including:
      • Cisco Catalyst (campus/core switching)
      • Cisco Meraki (cloud-managed networking, SD-WAN, wireless)
      • Internet connectivity, routing, and VPN solutions
      • Venue wireless and in-building wireless technologies (Wi‑Fi, BLE, DAS)
    • Architect and support Layer 2/3 and Layer 4–7 services, including:
      • BGP, EIGRP, STP
      • Load balancing and traffic engineering
    • Design and optimize secure remote access and site connectivity using IPsec, SSL VPN, and Zero Trust approaches.
  • Security & Zero Trust
    • Strong knowledge of Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) using Zscaler and similar platforms.
    • Integrate network security into architecture, including:
      • Secure web gateways
      • Cloud firewalling
      • Identity-aware access controls
    • Ensure compliance with security best practices and enterprise policies.
    • Collaborate closely with data security teams to maintain and protect network integrity.
  • Automation & Observability
    • Drive network automation and infrastructure-as-code using:
      • Python, Ansible, APIs
    • Build and enhance monitoring, telemetry, and analytics platforms to track:
      • Network performance
      • Capacity and utilization trends
    • Implement self-healing and scalable operational processes.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Act as a technical authority and mentor within the network engineering team.
    • Provide hands-on support, proof-of-concept development, and design validation.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with cloud, security, and application teams.
    • Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across teams.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING (TECHNICAL SKILLS)

  • Core Networking
    • Deep expertise in enterprise and broadcast (IP) network design and architecture
    • Strong experience with:
      • Cisco Catalyst (switching, routing, campus/core design)
      • Cisco Meraki (cloud-managed networking, SD-WAN, wireless)
    • Advanced knowledge of:
      • BGP, EIGRP, STP
      • Layer 2–7 networking concepts
      • VPN technologies (IPsec, DMVPN, VTI, SSL VPN)
    • Wireless and smart-venue technologies: Wi‑Fi, BLE, DAS
  • Modern Networking & Security
    • Experience with Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA) or equivalent SASE platforms
    • Strong understanding of:
      • Zero Trust architecture
      • SASE frameworks
      • Secure access service edge design principles
  • Cloud & Hybrid Networking
    • Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure networking
    • Experience integrating on-prem networks with cloud environments
  • Automation & Tooling
    • Proficiency in Python and/or automation frameworks (Ansible)
    • Experience with network monitoring and observability tools
    • Familiarity with APIs and infrastructure-as-code practices

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CCNP / CCIE (or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant cloud or security certifications (AWS, Azure, Zscaler)
