The Head of Festival Artist Services & Backstage Operations plays a central role in delivering a professional and welcoming experience for all artists and their teams. This position oversees artist liaison, dressing room set up, procurement of backstage riders, and operations. The role requires exceptional organisation, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced festival environment. This role is essential to ensuring artists and their teams receive the appropriate environment and support while onsite at our festivals, demanding exceptional professionalism, organisational ability, and customer service skills.

What the role includes

Artist Services

  • Recruiting and management of Artist Liaison companies
  • Oversee artist advancing
  • Provide clear communication between artists, production, stage and festival management
  • Oversee the teams that manage the festival's contact with artists, tour managers and representatives. This will include artist arrivals, accreditation, transport schedules and on‑site movements
  • Oversee fulfilment of artist riders
  • Support artist liaison teams to nurture wellbeing of artists by maintaining a professional, friendly, and solutions focused presence

Procurement & Logistics

  • Manage inventories for all backstage and dressing room supplies
  • Work within budget guidelines while ensuring quality and timely delivery
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and stock levels
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure efficient procurement workflows

Backstage & Dressing Room Delivery

  • Oversee third‑party Artist Liaison companies during artist advance and onsite operation
  • Manage delivery of artist catering and artist lounges
  • Responsibility for design, layout and furnishing of artist dressing room compounds
  • Manage the scheduling of dressing room changeovers
  • Ensure all requirements are delivered prior to artist arrival
  • Respond appropriately to last minute artist or production requests
  • Maintain backstage areas as secure, organised, and artist friendly spaces

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with production, stage management, security, and other festival teams
  • Brief and supervise backstage runners, hospitality staff, and temporary crew
  • Support the creation of backstage schedules, maps, and operational plans
