Role Description
The Promoter’s Assistant works as the support function for the team of Academy Events promoters, who programme shows and tours across the estate. The role is responsible for supporting the administration of the promoter’s shows and liaising with promoters, other department admin staff, venues, agents and artists. Ideally, you will have your finger to the pulse of up-and-coming new artists and already actively seeking out new acts by regularly attending new band nights.
The role requires a pro-active approach to the business and hit the ground running, working effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of the team. This is a rarely available opportunity to work for some of the UK’s most respected and experienced promoters as part of a friendly, inclusive and supportive team. If you have already some promoting on a small scale, that would be a big advantage!
Who you are
- Prior experience in a similar role in the entertainment industry
- Strong ability to multitask / organisational skills
- Skilled in MS Office – with a minimum of a basic ability on Excel (e.g. formatting, SUM function etc.)
- Strong level of numeracy skills
- Proactive, takes initiative and has high level of problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines under pressure
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

What the role includes
- Making sure all log, records and templates are kept up to date and developed in line with the needs of the team
- Act as first point of contact for the team and taking a proactive approach to ensure prompt response and resolution
- Generating show confirmations
- Venue availabilities and tour routing
- Helping to find support bands
- Building relationships with agents and artist managers
- Actively seek out new acts and agents to bring into the Academy Events fold (attending shows, making contacts to form a network etc.)
- Attend shows either with or in place with the promoter as requested
- Lead on small shows as directed by the promoter
