Role Description

Cuffe & Taylor, part of the Live Nation family, presents over 200 outdoor shows across the UK each summer, taking live music to iconic and historic locations and creating a unique experience for both audiences and artists. We are looking for a Promoter to join our small, close-knit team to book, programme and curate across our summer outdoor portfolio. The successful candidate will bring existing industry experience, relationships and connections, using these to find and secure the right artists for our venues and audiences. The effectiveness of the Promoter will be measured by their success in consistently securing appropriate talent across the portfolio and by the resulting shows achieving operational profitability.

Who you are

  • Proven experience in a similar promoter role, ideally booking or programming outdoor shows, festivals or touring concerts.
  • Established relationships and connections across the UK live music industry, including with artists, managers and agents.
  • Sound commercial judgement, with an understanding of the specific logistics, licensing and weather-contingency considerations of outdoor events.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Organised, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), inter-personal skills.
  • Competency with numerical data.
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent team building skills to include immediate team members, internal departments and clients alike.

What the role includes

Strategy and Business Direction

  • To contribute to the Cuffe & Taylor promoter team by helping to book, programme and curate a rounded outdoor summer portfolio of over 200 shows at iconic and historic locations across the UK.
  • To assist in the future strategy of the team, including identifying new outdoor sites, locations and formats to grow the Cuffe & Taylor summer portfolio.
  • To contribute to the profitable operation of Cuffe & Taylor and the wider Live Nation business, ensuring that such business is undertaken in accordance with company policy.

Operational Planning and Control

  • Secure the booking of artists across the Cuffe & Taylor outdoor summer portfolio.
  • Develop relations with artists, their managers and their agents.
  • Working with the agreed framework and controls when budgeting and producing artists’ offers, ensuring transparency and that best value has been secured for Cuffe & Taylor.
  • Carry out continuous research as to musical trends and developing artists, with a particular focus on acts suited to outdoor and festival audiences.
  • Working with the artist managers and agents to develop an artist’s career to ensure future success of the artist.
  • Develop band databases, then utilising this information to secure relevant support acts for headline shows across the outdoor season and local band showcases. Regularly feed the potential of artists back to the wider promoter team.
  • Ensure all relevant parties (artist / agent / site and venue staff) have all relevant information to ensure the smooth running of shows across the outdoor portfolio.
  • Ensure accurate, regular and prompt reporting / keeping of figures involved in their work, to be presented to key personnel as and when required.
  • To ensure that a monthly ‘rolling’ event promotion report is produced, highlighting any shows within the outdoor portfolio that may be under-performing.
  • Setting and managing budgets across the outdoor show portfolio.
  • Oversee booking strategy to maximise the outdoor show portfolio each summer season.
  • Provide information to enable the reviewing of systems for suitability and potential upgrading.
  • Working with the rest of the small Cuffe & Taylor promoter team to create new outdoor IP’s and expand the summer portfolio.

Accountability

Successfully and consistently achieving operational profitability and artist/show development across the Cuffe & Taylor outdoor portfolio.
