Ticketmaster Sport is part of Live Nation Entertainment, the world’s leading live entertainment company. You will consult on and help to implement solutions as part of a Product Delivery team, enabling teams to deliver software faster by creation of tooling and automation, providing operational support for a range of products, including the delivery of ticketing and associated solutions for major tournaments and high-profile sports clubs and events. Participate in an out of hours on call rotation, usually one week every month (emergencies only, paid on top).
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Support the current and future database platform(s).
- Maintaining existing backup, HA and DR solutions and processes.
- Assisting with database architecture planning and implementation.
- Building and maintaining CI/CD Database pipelines.
- Supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of SQL Server Agent jobs and scheduled tasks.
- Maintaining, improving and expanding our existing automation processes.
- Support the current Windows & Linux platform.
- Collaborate with product engineering to bring new components and features to production.
- Experience working directly with cross-functional teams, resolving data or/and database related issues.
- Automate tasks, deployments, tests, creating infrastructure as code.
- Design and implement resilient, highly available systems.
- Plan, organize and communicate project status.
- Continuously improve systems, security and drive new standards meeting PCI requirements.
- Support production database issues and assist in investigation at every level of the technology stack.
- Infrastructure auditing (looking at current system gaps and maintain a backlog of improvements).
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
- Experience of troubleshooting logical and physical performance bottlenecks on MSSQL.
- Good knowledge of configuring Microsoft SQL Server (2012 to 2019).
- Good understanding of T-SQL and Query Profiler.
- Knowledge of any other RDBMS would be advantageous (MySQL, Postgres etc).
- Experience designing, implementing and supporting always-available, cross-datacentre OLTP database environments.
- Experience using SQL Server monitoring tools.
- Good usage of public cloud (AWS).
- Good scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python…).
- Good knowledge of configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Octopus…).
- Good knowledge of configuring Windows Server.
- Good experience with Network Storage (NetApp, Amazon S3).
- Good virtualization experience (Hyper-V, XEN, VMware).
- Good use or knowledge of provisioning with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Good knowledge of working with APIs.
