Are you an experienced live-in carer who combines confident practical care with patience, kindness and a reassuring manner?
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive Live-In Carer to support a gentleman in West Quantoxhead, helping him remain in his own home with his wife.
With an initial December placement followed by a regular rotation in the New Year, this is an opportunity to build a trusting relationship and provide continuity of care.
About the Gentleman
Our client is non-verbal and requires support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, eating and drinking.
He requires hoisting for all transfers, with his wife providing assistance as the second carer. The successful carer will need to work closely and respectfully with her during these transfers.
A patient, attentive approach is important—taking time to understand his individual ways of communicating and responding to his needs and preferences.
Your support will include:
- Personal care and assistance with all aspects of daily living, maintaining dignity and comfort.
- Hoisted transfers, working alongside the client’s wife as the second carer and following the agreed care arrangements.
- Assistance with eating and drinking.
- Companionship, reassurance and attentive communication.
- Consistent, person-centred support, helping the gentleman remain comfortable in his own home.
The Right Carer
We would love to hear from an experienced live-in carer who is dementia-trained and trained in supporting complex care needs.
You should be confident with hoisting and moving and handling, patient when supporting someone who is non-verbal, and comfortable working collaboratively with the client’s wife.
Above all, we are looking for someone kind, reliable and proactive, who brings warmth and professionalism to everyday care.
Driving is not essential for this placement.
A Placement with Continuity
The initial booking runs from 10th to 23rd December 2026, followed by a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation in the New Year.
This would suit a carer who values getting to know a client’s routines and preferences and providing familiar, consistent support over time.
