Job Purpose
To be a member of a team of Leisure Assistants reporting to the Senior Leisure Assistant, ensuring the smooth day to day operation of Live Active Atholl.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operational Duties
- Creating and maintaining the desired image of the Centre through a welcoming, friendly approach to all customers.
- Ensuring the safety of customers by encouraging safe recreation and activity.
- Maintaining all playing surfaces in a safe and clean condition for use.
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in and around the centre at all times.
- Operating the point of sale till system in reception, including cash handling, processing credit cards and cheques, taking bookings, and selling fitness memberships.
- Dealing with enquiries from the public, both in person and on the telephone.
- Ensuring the efficient operation of the Centre's day to day programme through preparation for, assistance with, and clearing up after events and activities in accordance with Normal Operating Procedures.
- Assisting in the marketing and promotion of the centre.
- Assisting with the development of programmed activities within the centre.
- Checking deliveries as required and keeping stock records up to date.
- Complying with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all supplementary legislation.
- Liaising with Live Active Leisure maintenance team and other agencies to ensure that the Centre provides a safe, quality environment at all times.
- Ensuring that any defect or damage to the building or items of equipment is reported to management and, where competent, carrying out minor repairs and other routine maintenance tasks.
- Attending regular staff training sessions, be they held in house or externally.
- Ensuring physical fitness to carry out duties at all times.
- Maintaining confidentiality and observing data protection guidelines.
- Carrying out other reasonable duties as may be required.
