Job Purpose
To be a member of a team of dedicated teaching staff concerned with the delivery and development of swimming lessons at Perth Leisure Pool.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Organise and deliver swimming lessons within Perth Leisure Pool and other Live Active Leisure facilities as required.
- Carry out administrative duties in connection with the efficient operation of programmes.
- Contribute to developing programme content.
- Regularly carry out and record safety checks for equipment and facilities used to deliver programmes.
- Assist in the production of material for the marketing and promotion of programmes.
- Coach a range of physical activities.
- Assist in the recruitment and development of coaches and instructors.
- Work closely with facility‑based staff to ensure the effective operation of the programmes.
- Organise and prepare for classes taught, including session plans, class lists and administration of the swimming lesson programme.
- Arrange appropriate equipment for classes.
Health & Safety
- Comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all supplementary legislation.
- Report any defect or damage to the building or items of equipment to management of facilities.
- Ensure programmes are delivered in‑line with operational policies and guidelines.
Training
- Attend regular staff training sessions, held in‑house or externally.
- Assist in regular in‑house or external training for coaches and instructors.
General
- Maintain physical fitness to carry out duties at all times.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as may be required.
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.
